HELSINKI, May 24 (PRIME) -- Finnish project company Fennovoima has recalled its application for a permit for construction of the Hanhikivi-1 nuclear power plant by Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom, Fennovoima said in a statement on Tuesday.
“On Tuesday, May 24, Fennovoima has recalled its application for permit for construction of the Hanhikivi-1 nuclear power plant,” the company said.
Earlier in May, Fennovoima terminated the contract with Rosatom.
Rusatom Overseas, a unit of Rosatom, and Fennovoima signed a contract to build the plant in December 2013. Rusatom Overseas was to deliver a 1,200-megawatt reactor to the plant.
Russia planned to invest a ruble equivalent of 2.4 billion euros in the project and included it in the list of sustainable infrastructure projects.
